Don’t Mess With Women – Beware!
Amaravati Women Rise Against Derogatory Remarks; Protest Led by Guntur East MLA Naseer

The women of Amaravati have spoken loud and clear – any attempt to insult their dignity will be met with resistance. In a powerful and emotionally charged protest, hundreds of women gathered under the leadership of Guntur East MLA Mohammad Naseer to condemn the derogatory and offensive remarks made by journalist Krishnamraju, columnist Kommineni, and the management of Sakshi Media.
The protest, held on Tuesday at the Himani Center in Guntur, witnessed the burning of effigies of YSRCP leaders Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, Krishnamraju, Kommineni Srinivasa Rao, and copies of the Sakshi newspaper. The demonstrators raised slogans demanding an apology and the immediate shutdown of Sakshi media outlets.
Amaravati – A Sacred Land, Not a Political Playground
Addressing the gathering, MLA Naseer came down heavily on Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and his associates, accusing them of orchestrating a targeted campaign to demean the women of Amaravati. “This is not just a casual insult. It is a calculated conspiracy, scripted by Sajjala and backed by Jagan. Amaravati is a sacred land where deities once walked. People sacrificed their lands for the dream of a capital, and now they are being insulted by those who never respected the sacrifices of this region,” Naseer said.
He emphasized that the statements made by Krishnamraju and Kommineni were not isolated comments but part of a larger, malicious effort to demoralize the people of Amaravati, particularly its women, who have stood at the forefront of the capital movement since its inception.
Women’s Anger Turns Into a Movement
The protest marked a significant shift in public sentiment. What started as indignation over comments in a media outlet has now grown into a larger movement for respect, justice, and recognition of women’s voices in Andhra Pradesh politics. The fiery demonstrations, led by women holding placards and chanting slogans, sent a clear message to those in power: “Don’t mess with our self-respect.”
Several protestors expressed their anguish, saying that such vile language by media representatives reflects the degrading mindset that the YSRCP leadership has encouraged. “They can’t handle the progress brought by the coalition government. That’s why they’re resorting to such low-level attacks,” said one of the protesting women.
Sakshi Media Under Fire
The Sakshi media group, seen as the mouthpiece of the YSRCP, has come under intense criticism not only from Amaravati residents but from across the state. Many believe the platform has been consistently biased and has crossed the line by airing and publishing derogatory remarks aimed at women. Protestors demanded a complete boycott of the channel and its publications.
MLA Naseer called for action against the media house, saying, “There should be legal consequences for defaming women. Media freedom does not mean freedom to abuse.”
A Warning from the People
In a stern message to the ruling party, Naseer warned: “If you dare touch the self-respect of Amaravati’s women, be prepared to face the consequences. This is not a party fight. This is a fight for dignity, and no woman in this state will stay silent.”
The protest concluded with a vow from the participants to continue their movement until those responsible for the offensive remarks apologize publicly and step down from their positions. “This is just the beginning,” said Naseer, “the people are watching, and justice will be done.”#oursociety
