Hyderabad, November 20 (TSIT):
In the wake of an attack on an RTC driver, Hyderabad Commissioner of Police V. C. Sajjanar has issued a strong and clear warning: any assault, obstruction, or misbehavior toward government officials on duty will lead to immediate and strict legal action.
The CP emphasized that this applies to police personnel, teachers, RTC employees, and all other public servants who are carrying out their official duties.
Strict Legal Charges to Be Imposed
CP Sajjanar stated that anyone attacking or interfering with government staff will face criminal cases under Sections 221, 132, and 121(1).
These sections carry serious legal consequences, and once a case is filed, it becomes part of the individual’s permanent record.
Long-Term Consequences for Offenders
The Commissioner warned that such criminal cases can severely affect a person’s future, including:
-
Difficulty obtaining a passport
-
Barriers to securing government employment
-
Reduced chances in background checks for various services
He added that people often underestimate the long-term impact of such cases, but the consequences can be life-changing.
Appeal for Public Cooperation
CP Sajjanar urged citizens to maintain discipline, patience, and coordination with government employees.
He stressed that smooth functioning of public services depends on mutual respect and cooperation.
The Hyderabad Police have reiterated that they will not tolerate violence against government officials and will continue to ensure safety, order, and respect in all public service sectors.“Government staff work for public welfare. Any attack on them is an attack on public service itself,” he said.
