4 labor courts should be abolished
JANGAON: Along with the nationwide strike given by the labor and peasant public associations on May 20, the CITU Telangana Agricultural Workers' Association Telangana Farmers' Association was held under the auspices of Raparthi Somaiya and Gangapuram Mahender Jogu Prakash under the chairmanship of Raparthi Somaiya and Gangapuram Mahender Jogu Prakash.
On this occasion, the district general secretaries of the respective associations, Suchu Vijender and Singarapu Ramesh*Bhukya Chandu Naik, said that the BJP government, which came to power for the third time, has failed to implement the written promises made to the farmers in Delhi. They said that the promise of providing remunerative prices for the crops grown by the farmers by adding 50% to the investment made by the farmers has remained a mere word. They said that they are preparing to implement the black laws repealed as a result of the farmers' struggle in a big way. As part of that, they are preparing to implement the Electricity Reforms Act and the Market Draft Amendment Act. They said that they have prepared the ground for collecting charges by attaching meters to the motors in the farmers' fields. They said that they are preparing to hand over the market system to private corporate brokerage companies. They said that they are preparing to hand over the forest lands to corporate companies like Adani Ambani instead of giving land titles to the tribals and other poor people living in the country. They said that they are going to move the tribals out of the forests in the name of Tiger Jones. They are trying to convert the 44 labor laws they have achieved into four codes and hand over the workers to the management of private corporate multinational companies as modern slaves. They are trying to make it impossible to form a union and fight for their rights. They are thinking of changing the 8-hour work day to 15 hours. They are not opening their mouths. They said that the minimum wage should be implemented at Rs. 26,000. They said that in Kerala, where the Left government is in power, 14 types of essential commodities are being implemented for the poor in rural areas through the public distribution system, but the Modi government in Delhi is wringing its hands by giving 5 kg of rice to ration card holders. They said that while the cost of essential commodities is skyrocketing, no steps are being taken to reduce them. They demanded that the minimum wages law be amended and wages be increased in line with the increased prices. They demanded that 14 types of commodities be provided across the country through the public distribution system. They are demanding that rural employment be expanded to urban areas, that the working days be increased to 200 days, and that the minimum wage be increased to Rs. 600. They are concerned about reducing eight crore working days to 6.5 crore working days in the Telangana region. They demanded that this decision be immediately withdrawn. They demanded that 15 lakh rupees be given to the urban poor as well as the rural poor under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for the construction of houses for the homeless poor across the country, along with house sites, and that special funds be allocated for the construction of rural roads, drinking water, electricity supply and government hospitals. The district leaders of the respective associations, Manga Bheeraiah, Potkanuri Upender, Gangaraboyina Mallesh Raj, Goshangi Shankaraiah, Gandi Anjaiah Ramulu, Nakka Yakaiah and others participated in this meeting.
