"Karnataka Assembly has 224 seats. 113 seats are needed to take power. In 2018 elections too, there was a hung in the state. BJP became the largest party by winning 104 seats. Congress came second with 80 seats. JDS won 37 seats. As no party got a majority. Finally, Congress and JDS came together. They formed a government but that government did not last long and BJP took over.
