The Tamil Nadu Assembly election results have led to a hung assembly, opening a new chapter in coalition politics. As no single party has secured a clear majority, political negotiations have intensified for government formation.
Actor-turned-politician Vijay, leading the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party, has emerged as the leader of the largest party. However, TVK still needs the support of around 10 more MLAs to form the government.
Congress Support Signals
In this situation, Rahul Gandhi has reportedly stepped in and initiated discussions. The Indian National Congress is said to be ready to extend support with 5 MLAs. Additionally, the Communist Party of India (CPI) and a few other parties are also expected to support, strengthening the possibility of a coalition government led by TVK.
Ambedkar’s Vision in Focus
Amid these developments, references to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and the true implementation of the Constitution have gained prominence. Political observers believe that if constitutional values are genuinely implemented, it could lead to a major social transformation.
Thirumavalavan’s Statement
VCK leader Thol. Thirumavalavan responded strongly to the election results, stating that:
- People have rejected the divisive politics of the Sangh Parivar
- Secular and progressive forces have achieved a significant victory
- The DMK-led alliance received strong public support
He also criticized the AIADMK-BJP alliance, stating that voters delivered a clear verdict against them.
