SFI All India Vice President Subhash Jakhar Attends Press Conference in Support of Demand for Investigation
New Delhi: The Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) and the Jawaharlal Nehru University Teachers’ Association (JNUTA) held a press conference at the Press Club of India in New Delhi, demanding an investigation into alleged irregularities and recruitment-related scams at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
The organisations raised serious concerns over the recruitment process at the university and called for a thorough and independent probe into the allegations. They demanded accountability and transparency in the functioning of the university administration.
Demand for Investigation Against the Vice-Chancellor
During the press conference, JNUSU and JNUTA demanded an inquiry into the allegations concerning the Vice-Chancellor, whom they accused of being responsible for the alleged recruitment irregularities.The organisations stressed that recruitment to academic and non-academic positions in a premier central university must be conducted through transparent, fair and accountable procedures. They called for the facts surrounding the allegations to be investigated and placed before the public.
SFI Extends Support
SFI All India Vice President Subhash Jakhar attended the press conference on behalf of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) and expressed solidarity with the demands raised by JNUSU and JNUTA.
The participation of student and teachers’ representatives reflects growing concerns among sections of the JNU community over recruitment procedures and administrative accountability.
Call for Transparency and Accountability
The organisations demanded that the authorities ensure transparency in all recruitment processes and take appropriate action if any wrongdoing is established through an impartial investigation.
They maintained that allegations involving recruitment in a leading public university should not be ignored and called for a credible inquiry to establish the facts and fix responsibility wherever necessary.
The press conference brought the issue of alleged recruitment irregularities at JNU into the public domain, with JNUSU, JNUTA and supporting organisations reiterating their demand for transparency, accountability and an independent investigation.
