Kerala Government Renewing Speed Limits for Vehicles: Effective July 1st

100 km/h (90 km/h) on 4-lane national highways.
90 km/h (85 km/h) on other national highways and 4-lane state highways.
80 km/h (80 km/h) on other state highways and major district roads.
70 km/h (70 km/h) on other roads.
50 km/h (50 km/h) in urban areas.Light-Medium Heavy Motor Vehicles (Above 9 Seats):95 km/h on 6-lane national highways.
90 km/h (70 km/h) on 4-lane national highways.
85 km/h (65 km/h) on other national highways and 4-lane state highways.
80 km/h (65 km/h) on other state highways and major district roads.

Road Safety Considerations:

Recognizing that two-wheelers account for a significant proportion of road accidents in the state, the maximum speed limit for these vehicles will be reduced from 70 km/h to 60 km/h.
