In a shocking incident that exposes the unchecked power of political affiliates, a prime piece of panchayat land in Gattu mandal headquarters has allegedly been encroached upon by MLA's close aide Ramakrishna Reddy (RK Reddy). Despite the illegal activity happening in broad daylight, local officials are allegedly turning a blind eye.
Balram Naidu, Mandal President of the Nadigadda Rights Protection Committee, accused Ramakrishna Reddy of misusing his proximity to the MLA to occupy the government-owned panchayat land and start construction of a commercial complex.
Speaking to the media, Balram Naidu said,
“Panchayat land is public property meant for the development of the village, not for private exploitation. Ramakrishna Reddy is using the MLA’s backing to forcibly occupy the land and erect a complex, and the officials are simply ignoring it as if nothing is wrong.”
He added that this matter would soon be taken to the attention of district-level authorities, including the District Collector and senior revenue officers. He vowed to continue a legal and public struggle until justice is served.
This incident has created unrest among local residents, who are now demanding immediate government intervention. There is growing concern over the safety of public assets, especially when misused by those with political protection.
