Property Tax Payments Now on Mobile • Complaints and Civic Services Available with a Single Scan
The coalition government of Andhra Pradesh is set to deliver another piece of good news to the people of the state. In a major step toward expanding digital services, the government has taken a key decision to introduce a unified QR code-based system. From now on, property tax payments, municipal services, and grievance redressal facilities will be accessible through a single QR code.
Special QR Code System Across the State
Under this initiative, every house and commercial building located within cities, towns, and municipalities across the state will be assigned a unique QR code. These codes will be affixed to the respective buildings. By scanning the QR code with a smartphone, citizens can instantly access complete details related to that property on the government portal.
Simplified Property Tax Payments
Until now, citizens had to visit municipal offices to pay property taxes. With the new system:
-
Property tax arrears can be viewed instantly
-
Payments can be made online without delay
-
Payment receipts can be downloaded
-
Previous payment history can be accessed
All these services will now be available in a fully digital format.
Complaints Just a Click Away
The facility will not be limited to tax payments. Citizens will also be able to register complaints regarding water supply, drainage, streetlights, and garbage collection using the same QR code. Additionally, a tracking system will allow users to monitor the status of their complaints.
Boost for Local Businesses
The government is also planning to integrate information about locally available services, shops, and emergency facilities into the system. This move is expected to provide digital visibility and recognition to local businesses.
Implementation Under Central Digital Governance Initiative
The system will be implemented as part of the Central Government’s digital governance program. According to officials, it will initially be launched on a pilot basis in select areas and later rolled out across the state in phases.
Benefits for Citizens
-
Reduced need to visit government offices
-
Savings in time and expenses
-
Greater transparency
-
Faster delivery of civic services
